THE COMPANY

We have been retained to identify the General Manager (GM) for an iconic Town Center for our client who is a fast-growing Real Estate Development company headquartered in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.

The Town Center will be the region’s largest shopping complex with retailers, restaurants, hotels, and entertainment venues.

THE POSITION

A successful GM will design and implement policies, processes, and procedures following a continuous improvement system in order to reach maximum operational efficiencies and profitability, as well as generate an exceptional tenant and consumer experience.

The GM represents the face of the organization and is the primary liaison between the tenants and the Board. The GM is responsible for all day to day operational aspects, tenant needs, property maintenance, budget controls, construction, landscaping, marketing & sales, P&L, and reporting to the board.

Essential duties & responsibilities

  1. Vendor, supplier, and third-party procurement, due diligence, negotiations, and relationship management
  2. Administration for general repair projects, and equipment purchases
  3. Security, construction, and maintenance
  4. Sales & Marketing
  5. Enforcement of tenant lease obligations
  6. Supervision of all tenant build-out projects
  7. Reporting to board on annual budget forecast, capital expense requirements, P&L, and operational strategy
  8. Tenant relationship management

THE CANDIDATE

Candidate Required Skills:

  1. 3+ years of property management experience in leadership role, and 10+ professional experience
  2. Analytical and data driven, with the ability to design and implement adequate KPIs
  3. Project management skills
  4. Experience reporting to an institutional board of directors
  5. Impeccable Integrity and work ethic
  6. Hands-on with high attention to detail
  7. Strong presentation and communication skills
  8. Positive leadership style
  9. Proficiency working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  10. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, architecture, or related field. MBA preferred
