Job Summary:

Our client is a security and access solutions global leader with aggressive growth plans and is already considered to be top 4 globally. The incumbent will be responsible for successfully aligning HR goals & objectives to the goals of the business. The Human Resources Business Partner will be tasked with supporting the attraction, retention, development, and management of talent within the Nogales, Sonora Mexico large manufacturing plant. In addition, the HR Business Partner will act as a liaison with the employee and will consult with plant management on human resource-related topics. 

Organizational Relationship:

This position reports directly to the VP, Human Resources – Manufacturing Operations. This position will work closely with the Plant Manager for alignment and execution of the strategic goal & objectives for the business. The incumbent will also collaboratively lead as liaison the HR work of the Shelter Partner.  Additionally, the incumbent will be expected to partner HR Shared Services and the greater Division Human Resources Team when required. The position leads the efforts of an assigned Human Resource Coordinator. 

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  1. Successfully align HR goals and objectives to that of the business.

  2. Develop and implement a strategic Labor-Employee Relations Program that robustly drives employee accountability engagement.

  3. Leads efforts of Shelter agency assigned HR personnel in tactical transitions & HR support

  4. Develop and apply effective HR process workflows locally that result in acceptable customer satisfaction and continuous improvement within the HR department. Processes should be efficient, sustainable, scalable, and aligned to the Segment where possible to allow for consistency, and data visibility.

  5. Lead local management teams in utilizing the right processes, aligned with HR Strategy for performance management, training, engagement, hiring and selection, employee/organizational development, compensation, promotions, organizational changes, corrective actions, and terminations.

  6. Partner with the local management team to effectively deliver performance management (Perform and Grow) along with training and development opportunities for leaders and employees.

  7. Manage the delivery of HR services to employees and ensure a high degree of employee satisfaction with overall service delivery.

  8. Manage and support the local implementation and adoption of HRIS Systems and processes. (SAP, ADP, Employee Central Suite, LMS, Perform & Grow).

  9. Lead and facilitate the local communication process in partnership with the local leadership team.


Candidate Experience & Education:

  • 7-10+ Years of progressive Strategic HR Manager or Human Resource Business Partner. HR Generalist background.

  • Manufacturing environment experience along the border required coupled with Maquiladora business model experience preferred.  Electro-mechanical assembly environment a plus.

  • Robust Labor/Employee Relations experience required (Positive Employee Relations experience preferred). Mexico labor law knowledge and familiarity with Unions.

  • Strong talent management experience (i.e. recruitment, performance management, gap analysis, training plans, succession planning, retention).

  • Metrics oriented. Capable of creating measurement systems and analysis.

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred area of study is Human Resources or Business. Master’s Degree (e.g. MBA) preferred.

  • HR professional certifications such as: PHR, SHRM CP, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP preferred

  • HRIS Transaction or SAP Success Factors experience preferred

  • Thorough knowledge and proficiency of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred

  • Change management experience is highly desired. 

  • Fully understands Mexican culture as well understanding of U.S. culture (ie. Accountability, timely delivery and results).

  • Language Requirements:

  • Spanish - Native Fluency (reading, writing, speaking)

  • English – Business Fluent (reading, writing, speaking)
