Job Description:

Position Summary
Worldwide leader in technology products is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer for its Tijuana-Mexico facility. The incumbent will be responsible for all Supplier Quality contact and related issues.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate containment actions for  supplier non conformant material
  • Coordinate disposition for supplier non conformant material
  • Issued and follow supplier corrective actions until effective closure using 8D & six sigma methodology
  • Communicate internally and externally (corporate, customers & suppliers) about supplier quality issues and suppliers performance
  • Work directly with supplier’s upper management/owners to drive improved performance
  • Execute AIAG, IATF16949, ISO 9001 or inductry applicable quality system requirements, and customer requirements for supply chain
  • Execute supplier annual audit plan using VDA approach & run at rate audits as need it
  • Request, follow, review and approve supplier PPAPs/FAIs
  • Lead applicable new component supplier sourcing for new product development (NPD) and change management (CM)



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Master degree is a plus
  • At least 5 years in Supplier Quality with experience in Plastic Molding, Machining, Stamping and/or Plating.
  • Strong knowledge of Problem Solving capabilities (prefer the capability to complete 8D format)
  • Strong knowledge of automotive core tools such as APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC & FMEA
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T
  • Knowledge on Process Based Audits (Audit Preparation, Performing an Actual Audit, Submission and Review of Corrective Action,  and ensuring  effectiveness & closure)
  • Knowledge of Lean Practices (prefer someone that worked a Process Engineer in Lean Manufacturing environment)
  • Knowledge of Mistake Proofing / Poka Yoke methodology and practices
  • Knowledge of Kaizen (someone that has led or participated in Continuous Improvement Projects)
  • Knowledge of Standardize Work
  • Knowledge with PDCA and Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC)
  • Knowledge or certified internal auditor based on IATF 16494 (or TS16949)
  • Knowledge or has been through crisis management (need to be able to explain crisis situation, where in leadership position to manage and resolve)
  • Experience with Project / Program Management
  • Experience with VDA 6.3 is a plus but not a requirement
  • Experience of AIAG CQI Process Assessments is a plus
