PURPOSE OF ROLE


Our client, an American based global leader in premium automotive aftermarket parts seeks a Director of Technical Accounting. Under the direct supervision of the Chief Accounting Officer, this position is responsible for all Technical Accounting aspects and how they are incorporated into company policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Manages the process of new pronouncement implementation with external auditors and internal audit department ensuring full compliance.
  • Prepares summaries on new standards and pro-forma disclosures to be dispersed to all appropriate individuals.
  • Ensures compliance of company’s policies, procedures and corporate governance with GAAP and SEC regulations.
  • Provides support on the evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, mergers and other issues affecting business.
  • Meets with the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, when required.
  • Recommends and develops policies and procedures to meet company objectives.
  • Confers with other senior administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
  • May perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual must have a valid driver’s license, and be able to drive a motor vehicle. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in accounting; Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Big 4 experience preferred in a management position; 7 to 10 years of experience with publicly traded company; thorough knowledge of GAAP; and Manufacturing experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have extensive knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook); Inventory software; Order processing systems; Manufacturing software (QAD) and Contract Management systems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

Manages three subordinate staff members. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization&policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
