Job Description:

As a Director, Global Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SI&OP) you are responsible for ensuring our client’s ability to meet its product availability and delivery service levels to global customers, whilst at the same time keeping inventories current and within agreed levels of affordability.

In addition and enabled by our client’s decision to invest in the market’s most innovative Supply Chain planning software, you will be accountable for delivering a state of the art SI&OP architecture and for developing a high performance SI&OP team, as a catalyst for the company to reach its exciting strategic objectives and growth ambition.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Globally responsible for SI&OP, you are accountable for managing of all Sales Forecasting, Demand Planning, Supply Planning and Inventory Management, of the company’s Finished Goods products, across the life cycle.

This responsibility is comprehensive and includes:

  • Architecting, deploying and continuously improving the SI&OP infrastructure of organization design, business processes, business rules, governance, performance management and systems/tools.
  • Running the monthly SI&OP cycle with your SI&OP team and with all SI&OP stakeholders across the company. 
  • You will personally chair the monthly Executive SI&OP meeting aimed at getting approval for the respective monthly Demand, Supply and Inventory plans from the company executive team.
  • Smartly positioning Finished Goods inventory across the Supply Chain, in order to support sales channels to hold the right levels of channel inventory to meet end customer demand, whilst in parallel making sure to pro-actively drive the avoidance and mitigation of excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Acting as the business owner for the product availability and delivery Service Level Agreement (SLA) with sales channels, as well as for the equivalent SLA’s with factories and 3rd party suppliers.
  • Leading and developing the global SI&OP team of Demand Planners, Inventory Managers, Supply Planners, Business Analysts, Global Logistics Planners and New Product Introduction (NPI) / End of Life (EOL) Planners.
  • Acting as the center of excellence for the company’s continuous Integrated Business Planning between global Sales, Marketing, Product Management and Supply Chain functions, their leaders and their teams.

You and your SI&OP team are accountable to provide continuous transparency and information about product availability, demand status, supply status, inventory status, KPI performance targets, actual performance statistics and future performance projections, financially as well as product availability and delivery focused, across all product categories and sales channels. This accountability also includes for the initiation and delivery of deep dive analysis, root cause analysis and post-mortem reporting as required by the business.

You will keep continued focus, both from your SI&OP team as well as from all stakeholders across the company, on rightsizing the Finished Goods inventory levels across the Supply Chain; thus, securing the right balance between product availability and the use of working capital. Your SI&OP team will be in the lead to drive the avoidance as well as the resolution of any excess and obsolete inventory situations across the supply chain. In addition, they will see to it that all global logistics centers maintain an excellent level of inventory control.

In support of the continuous launch of new products and working with the global NPI and EOL teams, your SI&OP team will secure the healthy balance between product availability and inventory levels, from first time build to last time buy.

In support of all these responsibilities, your SI&OP team has full ownership for all ERP, MRP and APS settings for Finished Goods globally as it relates to lead times, inventory levels, minimum order quantities, replenishment settings and the like, tailored to the specific needs of our different product categories and sales channels and aligned to the respective SLA’s.

A senior member of the global team: 

You are a core and senior member of the global management team with shared responsibility for driving and maintaining an entrepreneurial team spirit and highly professional collaborative working relationships.

As holder of a vital position in the Company, you will regularly be involved in global initiatives, as team builder, team leader and/or as team member, also outside your own area of responsibility.

In addition, you will be representing the SI&OP team at the executive management level, and you will be frequently exposed and in direct interaction with the executive management team.

Due to the global nature of your role, you will flexibly blend in work and private life activities every day, a significant part of your duties being outside the normal business hours of your location.

Finally, you will be required to travel intensively, for about 35% of your time.

Candidate Skills and Requirements:

  • This position requires an MSc or MBA level of education in a Finance, Business Administration or Supply Chain curriculum from a renowned university. Alternatively, an equivalent business school degree in combination with an APICS CPIM or equivalent certification may be a suitable education level for the position.
  • A minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in a global IBP, S&OP or Supply Chain planning position is required, preferably in a multi-faceted global business in the High-Tech sector.
  • The successful candidate is a natural leader; radiating enthusiasm, energy and passion for the business; always behind his or her team, well versed with collaborating at all levels in the matrix organization of a global company, and with a proven track record of building a high-performance team.
  • In working together with colleagues across the organization, he or she brings a strong yet humble personality, collaborative, eager to learn, open to admit mistakes, and always driving results and solutions.
  • Experience with state of the art IBP or S&OP software is a preferred qualification.
  • Finally, the successful candidate is smart, analytical yet practical, accurate, precise, disciplined, organized, flexible, able to prioritize and with excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
