Outplacement

Our Story

Sharp economic fluctuations, fierce competition and dynamic fast changing markets are increasingly the cause for restructuring, downsizing and even eliminating entire divisions. Employee terminations, many times, are the result of efforts to position a company for future growth, expansion and competitiveness. Every organization finds from time to time that it is necessary to release employees. To overcome this problem, our sister company, Challenger, Gray & Christmas, conceived of the idea of outplacement over 50 years ago.

As the Mexico market grew in its global interdependence and markets continued to change more rapidly, Barbachano International recognized the need for easing the transition of terminated employees in Mexico. As a result, we partnered with the global outplacement leader, Challenger Gray & Christmas, headquartered in Chicago and opened offices in Mexico City, Reynosa / Monterrey and in the Tijuana / San Diego border region. Our President, Fernando Ortiz-Barbachano, Hector Casagrande, Director of Outplacement, and Rosa Nelly Ramirez, Director, Northeast are in charge of directing all of Challenger, Gray & Christmas S.C. Outplacement Services in the Mexican territory.

Benefits to our Customers and Clients

  • We are able to gain the trust of the individual (our client). Once we gain their trust we are able to direct them positively ahead toward their next career opportunity.
  • We are able to point out to the employee in transition the desire of their employer to help them through this difficult process.
  • By changing their attitude toward the release and then giving them positive direction, we can focus their energy on the future and not the past.
  • We can help you retain valued employees by demonstrating that you care enough about your former employees to help those persons you are releasing. When you have downsized, you do not want employees that remain to think they should start looking for a better company.
